Rumtin wrote:Agreed, the isk figures are higher so in theory you're making a lot more per tick, but the fact you have yourself and 30+ other ships to contend with means you don't always get to run the sites. If a solo ninja can find an empty system for themselves, why can't a sov holder with maps/bridges/intel? |

Klandi wrote:I would like to wade in here with the comment that you are looking at just one aspect of making money in Eve - effectively ratting.
As I am an industrialist - this thread helps me how?
As an industrialist, this thread probably doesn't concern you. Much like none of the threads in S&I concern ratters. |

Infinity Ziona wrote:Yeah I think you Goon peeps are a little overextended. Barely a Goon around to keep the riff raff out. Really, why would anyone pay to rent your space when they can just zip around using it for free.... meanwhile you guys pay the sov bills
Doesn't seem 'fair'. There are several more benefits to it.
-> Intel channels. Especially with the interceptor patch it's useful to know about an enemy before they enter your system. -> Logistics. You get access to stations, trade hubs, and courier services. No more need to look for wormholes. -> Standings. Think of the time you lost due to a CFC member being in your system looking for you. -> Exclusivity. Renting a system means nobody but you/your corp (and the occasional ninja) will be running the sites. -> Community. This is very much a personal thing, some people like to play together with their friends or corp. May or may not apply to everyone.
For some, the benefits outweigh the comparably low price of renting. |

Chopper Rollins wrote:If you live in a part of the world where you can't make 3$ an hour then explain why you are either spending 15 a month on interweb spaecships or grinding the isk up to pay for it. My whole point is either way you are wasting money or time. Some people like to challenge themselves within the confines of the game. Sure, you can take the stickers off a Rubik's cube and glue them to the correct places; but that doesn't stop people from trying to solve it. Sometimes the goal is not to make ISK, the goal is the competition to perfect the best ISK making method.
Some people just like shooting at red crosses. And while you do that, might as well try to optimize your income. |

If there is enough plexes for ninjas, there is enough plexes for sov holders. If diplomacy doesn't allow these plexes to be fully utilized, that's poor management. |
